U.S. Army Joint Munitions Command

Joint Munitions Command, a subordinate command of Army Materiel Command headquartered at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois, manages the life cycle of conventional ammunition for the U.S. military services. It oversees ammunition production plants and storage depots in 16 states, with more than 5,800 civilian employees among a total workforce of roughly 14,000, and its plants produce more than 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition annually. Federal civilian maintenance workers keep the industrial equipment, magazines, buildings, and utility systems at these arsenals, plants, and depots operating.
