Veterans Health Administration

The Veterans Health Administration is the health care arm of the Department of Veterans Affairs and the largest integrated health care system in the United States, operating 1,380 facilities including 170 VA medical centers and more than 1,100 outpatient sites that serve over 9 million enrolled veterans. VHA employs more than 371,000 people, and its wage-grade maintenance workforce keeps hospital physical plants running: boiler plants, HVAC, electrical and utility systems, and building repair at medical centers nationwide. These are federal civilian positions.
