Base Power, founded in 2023 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, is an energy company that installs home battery systems and sells electricity, using its distributed batteries to back up homes and support the Texas grid. Backed by a $1 billion funding round, it has expanded from Austin to Dallas-Fort Worth and is standing up its first battery and power electronics factory in the former Austin American-Statesman building, with plans for a larger manufacturing plant near the Austin airport.
