Air Force Materiel Command

Air Force Materiel Command, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, conducts research, development, testing, acquisition, and sustainment for the Air Force, with a workforce of roughly 80,000 military and civilian personnel. Civilians make up more than 70 percent of the command, the highest share of any Air Force major command, and it includes the large air logistics complexes at Tinker, Hill, and Robins Air Force Bases. Federal civilian trades and maintenance employees keep depot industrial facilities, laboratories, and base physical plants operating.
